How much CBD should I take?
The “right” dosage is personal
When it comes to CBD it is important to understand that the right dosage is completely personal. Dosages may vary from person to person. It’s about finding the right amount and number of CBD intakes throughout the day.
So, when you first start taking CBD we recommend starting with low dosages and building the dosage up as you go until you get the desired results. But before we explain how to do that, it is important to know the factors that influence the dosage
Due to the individual characteristics of the body, the effects of each CBD dosage can vary. The factors that influence these effects are:
● One's health condition.
● Human body weight. The more bodyweight, the higher the dosage is needed. And vice versa.
● Rate of absorption and distribution of CBD by the Endocannabinoid receptors.
● Method of use. Oils and tinctures placed under your tongue are absorbed into the bloodstream faster and stay longer. Edible CBD products must pass through the digestive system before entering the bloodstream, taking longer to be effective. In contrast, CBD by vaporisation bypasses the digestive system and enters the bloodstream from the lungs faster.
● The effects the individual wants to achieve.
Overdosing on CBD is very unlikely since CBD is a natural product and non-intoxicating. Even under investigative processes, it has been suggested to be relatively safe to use by The World Health Organization (WHO). A 2011 review on the safety and side effects of CBD found that continuous use of CBD, even in high doses up to 1500mg a day, is well-tolerated by humans.
It is important to note that there are a few known side effects of CBD. If side effects do occur, these may include tiredness, diarrhoea, or changes in appetite.
In any case, if the customer is new to the use of CBD or is currently taking other medication, we recommend discussing it with a doctor or expert in the field for more information.
There is no standard daily recommended intake for CBD, however, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has recommended a maximum daily CBD intake for healthy adults of 70mg. Please, note that this statement is not legally required, but just a recommendation.
When you first take CBD, it is widely recommended to start low and build the dose up until you obtain the desired results. We generally recommended starting with a low-effect dose based on weight.
Below is a guide for dosage amounts based on weight and effect desired.
After a week of keeping track and feeling how your body has responded to the dosage, if you have obtained the right desired effect, you no longer need to increase the CBD dosage and can continue with the current dosage.
If the results are not as desired, you could consider increasing the dosage amount by 5mg (approximately 2 drops) weekly. And continue with this method until it is effectively giving you the desired results.
We recommend having consistency during the process and keeping track of CBD dosages and symptoms during this process.
